It is easy to laugh in the comfortably warm water, because you save good money with your SOLKAV solar absorber! With SOLKAV your swimming pool becomes the Mediterranean!
The bathing season usually runs from May
to September. During this time (that is
about 150 days) the water of an unheated
open tool has a temperature of over 23°C
only on about 30 days. This leads to the
need to heat the water for the remaining
120 days if, according to medical evidence,
one wants to achieve the ideal temperature
of 25°C-28° C.
Without heating, the most expensive swimming pool is not optimally used. For a conventionally heated swimming pool you need up to 1.000 € per season. This puts a strain on the wallet and the environment. A SOLKAV solar heating system is the most economical, safest and most environmentally friendly solution, because two thirds of the total solar energy between May and September, exactly during the swimming pool season, is available to us.
Because SOLKAV solar absorber mats have been proving themselves to the fullest satisfaction in municipal and private bathrooms for more than 40 years. The SOLKAV solar absorber delivers a similar net heat yield in the outdoor pool as a glazed collector, at comparatively lower
acquisition costs. Due to the mat, which is usually glued, the existing roof skin is not injured, whereby the SOLKAV solar
absorber mat can be laid with almost equal efficiency at any roof.
Amortization after 3-5 years
Absolutely frost-resistant - just the collector pipes have to be emptied separately in winter
No additional heat exchangers necessary, resistant to swimming pool chemicals in normal concentration
light weight, only 6 kg/m2 (filled) no load on your roof
Adaptative to any roof construction. By glueing to the roof, there is no risk of injuring the roof skin
Available in all dimensions
The collector temperature and temperature of the swimming pool are measured with temperature sensors and compared in the control electronics. As soon as the collector temperature is higher than that of the swimming pool, the electric 3-way valve switches so that the filtered swimming pool water flows through the SOLKAV solar absorber mat, so that it then flows back into the pool heated. In case of insufficient solar radiation or a pre-set pool
temperature, the electric motor valve switches back and the swimming pool water is filtered exclusively.

The solar mats are made of high quality, vulcanized
Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomers (EPDM), with right-angled adhesive rails. This results in a conversion factor ETA (η0) of 93.7% tested according to ÖNORM M7720 and proven by a test certificate. The absolute yield of such systems depends on the climatic conditions (location, solar radiation, partial shading by e.g. trees, etc.).
The absorber is resistant to normal concentrations of swimming pool water treatment agents. The temperature resistance of the EPDM absorber ranges from -50 to 180 ° C.
The mats are laid by laying them out (rolling them out) and gluing them to the intended surface. Various preparatory work is required for this depending on the design of the roof.
The EPDM mats are integrated into the pre-drilled, countersunk PVC header pipes using Norton support sleeves made from high-quality PTFE. This type of connection is a safe way of exchanging entire loops of the mat in the event of damage without great effort. Damage (e.g. marten bites) can be repaired using repair kits
easily repaired.
The heat transfer medium (eg swimming pool water) flows through the mats and the amount of heat absorbed is used directly.
a) The mats are used in swimming pool water heating. The order of magnitude ranges from small
Private pools to public pools with commercial use.
b) Domestic water heating in connection with heat pump units.
