Grid ice fields application

The stability of the pipe system is just as good as that of concrete tracks but without the need for iron reinforcement and a high-quality concrete layer!

The stability of the pipe system is just as good as that of concrete tracks. The Solkav system is designed for easy installation, flexible in design and superior to concrete ice floors.

The system consists of 4 parts - Plug and play

Grid plates

The grid plates are similar to “egg boxes” have and have the size of 38,8 cm x 34 cm x 4,6 cm; (height). This means 7,5 pieces per m². They are made of PE/PP to keep form.

The distance between pipe and pipe middle is 5 cm; per rm 20 pipes are recommended to install. They are fit together by clips them together. In this way you get a full floor.

Alternative: grid stripes

Also possible is to fix the pipes with stipes. This way is recommended for curves (Ice tracks) /Ice walks etc.

Flex pipes

The Flex pipes are made from PP - COPO quality, DO 21,2; weight 85 gram per rm. Length up to 100 m possible

Collector packages, ready to connect

The pipes can be easily connected to the collector package, this is designed as a 3-pipe system including all fittings (Tichelmann), ready to connect the pipes. Last but not least, it is a modular plug and play system, easy to install and connect to a chiller system.

Outdoor ice rinks with sports surface

For outdoor installations, they require a foundation of compacted broken rock. This is a cheap solution for a water-permeable subsoil. The grid plates are laid on the compacted stone base, the spaces between the pipes are filled with sand after installation. The top layer can then be e.g. artificial turf, so you have a sports area in summer and an ice rink in winter. Sports in summer, ice in winter.

Renovation of existing ice halls

A simple alternative to a concrete ice rink: In ice rinks, the system is installed over a layer of insulation, iron reinforcement, PE pipes and welded deflectors, with a high-quality concrete layer on top. Here, a renovation is very expensive and involves a lot of work!

Our alternative - renovate with Eisplast:

You can then put the system into operation, backfilling is not necessary. In the case of year-round operation, the system is recommended to be backfilled with sand, permafrost.

The Eisplast system is an alternative for renovations or construction of new ice rinks without expensive and complex iron/concrete system.
