Solkav Solarabsorber CoEX

The Solkav COEX was developed in a 2-year research project with the University of Aachen and our primary EPDM material manufacturer. The project was reviewed by the dt . Research Ministry and approved for funding. The developed product of Solkav COEX was tested by

Solkav concomitantly in its solar efficiency and the thermal conductivity and could be released by January 2015 for the application. The Solkav COEX increase the solar efficiency by approximately 20 % or can reduce the area used by 20%.

The greatly improved short-wave absorption / UV absorption of the outer layer of the absorber is caused by unique, special pigments. The UV radiation, which cannot be converted with conventional solar absorbers, can also be used for the first time to gain heat and not just be “fended off”. +8% extension of the achievable solar spectrum and thus the solar energy source.

Thermal conductivity increase Solkav CoEX

Carefully selected additives in a balanced concentration ratio are able to build up a filler network that generates efficient heat transfer, with improved thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity well above the values of conventional solar absorber materials.

Together, these two improvements lead to an enormous increase in the solar effect, especially at low outside temperatures (if it is important!) Both in the outdoor pool: + 10%, as well as in the indoor pool area: + 20%.

With the tangible result of the warmer swimming pool, the effect is most evident at the beginning and end of the season. In relation to the entire summer season, the improvement is an average of 10 to 20%.
